Jewish Prague
On this tour of Prague, the focus is on contemporary Jewish life, including legends of Jewish Prague.
The tour of Josefov includes the Old Jewish Cemetery and some of the six monuments forming part of the Jewish Museum: Pinkas Synagogue, Maisel Synagogue, Klausen Synagogue and Spanish Synagogue. Last but not least, the Old New Synagogue is included on the tour. It’s one of Europe’s oldest synagogues and one of the earliest examples of Early Gothic in Bohemia.
Each synagogue looks at a different aspect of Jewish history, both in the Czech lands and worldwide. The tour ends with a visit to the birthplace of writer Franz Kafka.
